NFC Keycard Operation
Manage NFC cards
NFC card Operation
This tool helps users manage their NFC cards:
Show Private Key: Displays the private key of the NFC card.
Copy NFC KeyCard: Saves the card information so it can be transferred to another card.
Erase NFC KeyCard: Deletes all data on the NFC card, including the key.
Activate NFC Reader: Reads the NFC tag.
Lock Card: Allows users to lock the private key of their cards to safeguard their wallets.
Please note that all operations with the NFC KeyCard require scanning the NFC card for verification. Therefore, make sure the NFC feature on your phone is enabled.
Show NFC Card Private Key
An NFC Card functions as a cold wallet, offering high security but with the trade-off of less convenience in use.
To make it easier for users to extract the private key from an NFC Card and import it into wallet applications, the following steps can be used:
How to View Your NFC Card Private Key:
Go to the NFC Card Operation Menu.
Select Show NFC Card Private Key.
Scan your NFC Card.
Agree to the prompt to display the private key.
Copy the private key for wallet importation.
Important Note: The private key is the critical access key to your wallet. Never share your private key with anyone else to ensure the security of your funds.
Copy NFC KeyCard
One critical aspect of an NFC Card is that all wallet information is stored on the card itself. Losing the card means losing access entirely.
While some users choose to import the card into a hot wallet as a precaution, hot wallets are not as secure as cold wallets.
For those seeking a secure backup solution, the Copy NFC KeyCard feature allows users to duplicate their NFC Card onto another NFC Card for safekeeping while maintaining the same level of security.
How to Copy Your NFC KeyCard:
Go to the NFC Card Operation Menu.
Select Copy NFC KeyCard.
Scan the original NFC Card (main card).
Scan the second NFC Card to complete the duplication process.
Erase NFC KeyCard
Erasing an NFC KeyCard resets all data stored on the card, essentially turning it into a brand-new, unused card. This action is irreversible, so proceed with caution.
How to Erase an NFC KeyCard:
Go to the NFC Card Operation Menu.
Select Erase NFC KeyCard.
Confirm the action to erase the card.
Scan the NFC Card and wait for the process to complete.
Important Notes:
Once erased, the NFC Card can no longer be used to access the previous wallet address, as the private key is permanently reset.
If you have a backup NFC Card, you can still access your wallet. Without a backup, all access will be lost.
Lock Card
NFC Wallet cards often have a common drawback: users can accidentally reset or erase the card if they’re not careful. While this doesn’t affect the NFC functionality of the card, it means the user will lose access to the wallet’s original address. This happens because resetting the card generates a new private key, which results in a new wallet address.
To address this issue based on user feedback, we’ve added the “Lock Card” feature to the KEYRING PRO Wallet. This feature allows users to secure the information on their NFC cards, ensuring wallet safety:
Locks the private key and wallet address to the card, preventing wallet loss.
Disables modifications, making it impossible to edit, erase, or reset the card.
Once a card is locked, the information becomes permanently embedded. This process is irreversible and ensures absolute security.
Users can enable the Lock Card feature either when creating a wallet with an NFC card or at any time afterward. Simply follow these steps to lock your card:
Open the settings menu in the KEYRING PRO Wallet.
Select Card Operation.
Find and choose the Lock Card option.
Scan your NFC card (ensure the NFC function on your device is enabled).
Once the process is complete, a confirmation message will appear, indicating your card is now locked.
Activate NFC Reader
Reads the NFC card tag.
